Recipe Test: Smoky Sweet Potato Burgers with Roasted Garlic Cream

INGREDIENTS:

  • Sweet potatoes
  • Garlic
  • Cannellini beans
  • Panko bread crumbs
  • Wheat flour
  • Egg
  • Paprika
  • Onion Powder
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Cumin
  • Olive oil
  • Avocado
  • Yogurt
  • Maple syrup
  • Whole wheat buns
As warm weather approaches I find myself craving 'summer' foods ... in thinking about the grill I started craving hamburgers so found several veggie burger recipes to try out.  These were easy enough to mix up the 'batter' and fry them up.  


The garlic cream smelled wonderful but the flavor got lost with the sweet potatoes & avocado.  I suppose if you put on A LOT of it you may get that garlic flavor.  


Hubby had two and though he did not declare "hubby approval" he did scarf them down pretty quick.   I had one.  My dinner is pictured below. The side salad is one I've made before - cucumber caprese.  I honestly thought the salad was better than the burger.  I don't mind the taste but the mushy texture on the inside just bugs me for some reason.  I'll have to find a burger that isn't sweet potato based.
